Toby
Toby arrived into my life March 2015. I was volunteering with the local chapter of Westie Rescue of Canada. I had a two-year-old Westie that I thought could use some company and signed up to foster. When Toby first arrived, he was extremely thin, minimal hair and sores on his skin. Despite baths, creams, vet trips and meds Toby never complained. With time he would complain about his baths.
Toby loved to eat. He ate everything. I would often find him in the garden digging up my carrots. When he was caught in the act he would offer no apology. He would stand his ground and give me a look ’Yep I did it, so what!’.
Toby was known as the enforcer. He would let kids, dogs and adults who were goofing around know that they better tow the line. We always joked if he were to be lost in a forest with his brother and cousin, he would be the only one that would survive.
He was always bossed around by his brother westie and made no complaints. He would be sleeping in the middle of the night and his brother would speak at him till he moved.
He had spunk and loved his life. I loved him as did my family and anyone who met him. Thanks to the Westie Rescue of Canada for bringing Toby into my life and thank you Toby for 10 great years!
